Columbian Currency

There are weird things in all of the containers in Bioshock games, but something about finding anything but money in a container designed to specifically hold money struck as particularly odd. Does he accept other forms of food? Does the register have separate drawers for Froot Loops and Honey Bunches of Oats? Who knows?

I know this is crazy, but I don’t really like Bioshock that much. Both of the settings are incredible, and the narratives are great. I just don’t like playing the game. The gameplay just isn’t that great and it certainly isn’t different enough from everything else to keep me interested. But even more importantly, it really has nothing to do with the story that is the main draw of the game. They just don’t fit together at all. I stopped playing the original game on my first playthrough because I got to a stretch with a lot of fighting and forgot that I cared about the story. Now, I’m not saying the game shouldn’t have any fighting. I just think the core mechanic of a game needs to serve it’s main draw. Bioshock doesn’t do this at all. I feel like I’m watching a movie on TV and playing Call of Duty during the commercials. I have the same problem with Mass Effect. Everyone plays that game for the story and character building, but the core mechanic of combat is completely irrelevant to both of those.
